Debra and 60' single engine trawler 1978

Captain Debra's first command from 1978 - 1984 was a 60' single engine trawler with NO BOWTHRUSTER!

Talk about learning docking maneuvers the hard way! She operated and maintained this vessel on numerous cruises between the Channel Islands and Acapulco. This was before there were any marinas in Mexico (every time you stopped the yacht, you anchored), there were no electronics capable of giving you a Lat/Long, and weather prediction mostly consisted of the ability to read clouds and the barometer.
